G1 Lyno has no AI features and no server-side processing of your answers — it’s a quiz app with static, bundled content. This policy explains the little data we do collect, why, and the control you have over it.
G1 Lyno (“G1 Lyno,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a mobile app and website that help you study for the Ontario G1 knowledge test: practice questions, a full test simulator, road signs flashcards, and progress tracking. This policy applies to our iOS app, our Android app, and our website at g1lyno.com.
All quiz content — questions, choices, and explanations — is static and bundled with the app. There is no AI, no language model, and no server-side inference anywhere in G1 Lyno; nothing you type or answer is ever sent to a third-party AI service.
This policy is written to satisfy the Apple App Store and Google Play disclosure requirements as well as the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA.
We collect only what we need to run the app. Specifically:
We do not sell your personal data, we do not show ads or use any ad SDK, and we do not use your quiz activity for cross-app advertising tracking.
Consistent with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework, G1 Lyno does not track you across other companies’ apps and websites, does not share your data with data brokers, and contains no advertising SDK of any kind. The account, progress, and diagnostic data above are linked to your identity only because they belong to your account, and are used solely to operate and improve G1 Lyno.
We share data only with the service providers that help us run G1 Lyno, when required by law, or in a business transfer. We never sell it.
Each provider is bound by contract to protect your data and use it only to provide their service to us.
Locally on your device, your progress is stored for as long as you keep the app installed; uninstalling the app deletes it. If you’ve linked an account, a backup copy lives in Firestore for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and its associated data, use Settings → Delete account in the app, or email support@g1lyno.com. We delete your personal data within 30 days of a verified request, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, tax, or fraud-prevention obligations. For step-by-step instructions and exactly what is removed, see Delete your account & data.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted and authenticated. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach as required by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To exercise any right, email support@g1lyno.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
G1 Lyno is intended for people preparing for Ontario’s G1 knowledge test, typically 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the age required to hold a G1 licence in Ontario. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may process and store data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
