Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the G1 Lyno mobile app and website (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The service

G1 Lyno is a G1 driving knowledge test study aid for Ontario: practice questions, a full test simulator, road signs flashcards, and progress tracking. All quiz content is static and pre-written; it is a study aid, not a substitute for the official Ontario Driver’s Handbook or for professional or legal advice.

Not an official MTO product

Your account

• The app works anonymously by default; no sign-up is required to use it.
• If you choose to link a Google, Apple, or email account, you are responsible for keeping those credentials secure.
• One account is for one person and may not be shared, sold, or transferred.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for anything unlawful or harmful;
• attempt to break, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the security, billing, or access controls of the Service;
• extract, scrape, or redistribute the question bank or its content in bulk; or
• use bots, scripts, or automated means to access or abuse the Service.

Plans, billing & refunds

• The free tier includes one full G1 Test Simulator run, the complete road signs flashcard deck, and review of your own missed questions from that run — permanently, at no cost.
• Premium unlocks unlimited simulator runs, the full question bank, the Challenge Bank, all language packs, and the Readiness Score, via a weekly, monthly, or lifetime purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; lifetime purchases are one-time and non-consumable.
• All purchases are made through, and billed by, the Apple App Store or Google Play under their respective terms — including renewals, cancellations, and refunds.
• All displayed prices, including any discount, come directly from the App Store or Google Play product listing at the time of purchase.

App Store & Google Play terms

Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of the store you downloaded it from. For Apple: these Terms are between you and G1 Lyno, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide support or address claims relating to the app; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, question bank, explanations, design, and branding, is owned by G1 Lyno and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. While every question is traced to the MTO Driver’s Handbook and reviewed for accuracy, we do not warrant that the content is error-free or that using the Service will result in passing the official G1 test.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, G1 Lyno will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing here limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
